"Only we can keep Rolando Park Safe From Fire."

We'd like to hear from you!

Dear Rolando Park Residents,
Rolando Park now has its own volunteer Fire Safe Council. Our purpose is to promote neighborhood safety by encouraging fire risk mitigation efforts by individual residents and volunteers.
Many of us in Rolando Park live in a designated Very High Fire Severity Zone. See your location on this map:

1. We recently received a $2,000 start up grant from the San Diego Regional Fire Foundation which allows us to pay for printing, our website, neighborhood dumpster days, and our Neighbor to Neighbor program using volunteers to help neighbors, who are unable to do so on their own, to reduce brush and excess vegetation on their property.
2. We will be distributing flyers door to door to tell you about our Fire Safe CounciL
3. We are able to provide free Home Ignition Zone / Defensible Space assessments with awritten report of our recommendations.
4. Participate by joining our email list so we can give you information about home hardening and defensible space.
Email us at

5. Go to our website

6. Volunteer to help on a Neighbor to Neighbor project helping residents who are unable to reduce / remove vegetation and brush to mitigate fire risk in our community. Or talk to us about becoming a board member. Email us or go to our website.
7. Tell us if you would participate in a dumpathon in the future where we would provide dumpsters or a chipper available to dispose of greens / vegetation.
8. Tell us if you would participate in presentations about home hardening (such as ember proof vents) and defensible space (such as lower fire risk tree trimming, placement of plants)
Thanks for your interest,
